Interesting facts about India that will Blow your Mind | Amazing Facts about India

When is the independence day of India? Anyone would answer simply on August 15, 1947. But did you know that Telangana, some parts of Karnataka and Maharashtra were still NOT independent? Let me tell you the history of the state of Hyderabad! (Yellowish green area below).

The state of Hyderabad was an Indian princely state located in the south-central region of India, and was ruled, from 1724 to 1948, by a hereditary Nizam. The capital city was Hyderabad.

The tyrannical Nizam and his Muslim army called Razakars (Hyderabad) resisted the integration of the State of Hyderabad into the Domain of India.
They also tried to make the Nizam access its princely state to Pakistan instead of India.

The Razakars were responsible for the murder, rape and brutal murder of many Hindus in the Telangana and Marathwada region who were expelled.

The situation worsened day by day. But all thanks to the Iron Man of India! Amid the atrocities committed by the Razakars, the then Indian Interior Minister, Sardar Patel, decided to annex Hyderabad. Operation Polo, the code name of the Hyderabad Police Action, took five days, in which the Armed Forces of India invaded the State of Hyderabad and overthrew its Nizam, annexing the state to the Indian Union!

P.S: I have a personal connection with this. My ancestors moved to Bellary to save their lives from the cruel Razakars. Not many people know about the Indian integration of Hyderabad. Today, September 17, 1948 is the day my grandfather, a 10-year-old boy, jumped for joy when he heard that the Indian army annexed the state of Hyderabad to India! This may not be an interesting fact about India, but today, September 17, it is the true Independence Day for us! JAI HIND!
